(STATS) – A massive Dallas-sized finish from Derrick White helped the Memphis Grizzlies beat the Utah Jazz, 119-118, to reach the playoffs for the eighth time in eight seasons.
The Grizzlies kept their slim playoff hopes alive and beat a Jazz team that won 11 of 14. Memphis lost by 16 at Utah on March 28 and caught a break in a road game that was called after 5 minutes because of a thunderstorm.
On Monday, the Grizzlies made a big play when they needed one to extend their regular-season winning streak to four games.
Andre Drummond had 26 points and 24 rebounds, and White made a pair of free throws to clinch it at the line with 2.9 seconds left for the Grizzlies, who have made the playoffs every season since 2008.
Jazz coach Quin Snyder had his young team ready to play, but they didn’t lead by double figures until the final seconds. Donovan Mitchell, who came in leading the NBA in scoring, finished with a career-high 38.
