Lenovo set the stage for perhaps the most interesting PC gaming handheld with the announcement of the Legion Go, and it looks determined to do it again with the Legion Go S and Legion Glasses 2, both of which are visible in a new leak.
While this isn’t the first leak of the Legion Go S, it is a much better look at the handheld. The images are bigger and more visually clear, and there’s even a snapshot of a second color. What we are seeing for the first time are the Legion Glasses 2. If you’re not familiar with the first pair of Legion Glasses, they were launched alongside the original Legion Go.
They’re an add-on accessory you can use with the handheld to give yourself a personal monitor. The intention is so you can have a larger screen to play games on using the VR tech inside the glasses. The original pair looks not too unlike a pair of Meta Ray-Ban glasses Although slightly different. The Legion Glasses 2 appear to be slimmed down in the design, with the lenses having more of an aviator style to them.
Both the Legion Go S leak and the Legion Glasses 2 leak come from Evan Blass on X. Blass doesn’t say anything about the specs for either device. With regard to the Legion Glasses 2 though, it seems likely these are still a plug-and-play experience. Meaning they’ll need to be connected to your handheld with a cable.
The Lenovo Legion Go S leak shows off two colors
The Legion Go S has been known about since earlier this Summer, when a rumor surfaced saying that Lenovo was planning a handheld with a smaller display. At the time it wasn’t clear what the official name was or what it looked like. Fast forward to December 4, and the first leak of the handheld’s design showed up. That leak included the handheld in white, but today’s leak showcases it in a second color that looks almost like a really muted purple. All of the design details are the same as well, so it’s clear the two are the same handheld.
Although no specs are mentioned there were several that were rumored from earlier this month. Including a 120Hz refresh rate display, and a new Ryzen APU powering the handheld.
It was also said that it would be coming with 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD, as well as a 55.5Wh battery.
Lenovo may show this off at CES
With images now leaking and the device design looking basically finalized, it seems probable that Lenovo plans to show this device off at CES. It’s not clear when the company would launch the handheld. If the Legion Go S is shown off at CES though, then a launch probably isn’t too far behind. The Legion Glasses 2 could make an appearance at CES as well, given that they’re probably designed for the Legion Go S.
Either way, handheld PC gaming enthusiasts probably have a lot to look forward to in the next month.
