Huawei has announced a new pair of its truly wireless earbuds, the FreeBuds Pro 4. The FreeBuds Pro series is the best series of the company’s truly wireless earbuds, so our expectations are high.
The Huawei FreeBuds Pro 4 earbuds have arrived with a dual driver system
Do note that we’re talking about a global launch of these earbuds. They were announced in Dubai, alongside the Mate X6 foldable smartphone. These earbuds are quite compact and come with a compact carrying/charging case.
You’ll notice that the case itself has an egg shape, and it includes an LED notification light on the outside. The earbuds themselves have rather short stems on the sides, and inside them, you’ll find touch panels, on the other side.
With that being said, the Huawei FreeBuds Pro 4 earbuds do include a Dual Driver system, which should provide an even more rich sound and a dynamic listening experience. What caught our eye the most is the company’s advanced AI noise cancellation.
Huawei also utilizes a bone-conducting microphone
A high-sensitivity bone-conducting microphone is also something that sparked our interest. These earbuds can basically intelligently differentiate between human voices and environmental noise in order to isolate your voice while you’re speaking to someone.
Huawei included an 11mm four-magnet dynamic unit here, plus a micro-planar tweeter. ANC (Active Noise Cancelation) is also a part of the package, and it’s backed by AI.
What’s also listed is the “ultra-immersive spatial audio”, while LDAC is supported here. There are four microphones included, including the aforementioned bone-conducting one.
These earbuds are water and dust resistant
These earbuds are IP54 certified for water and dust resistance. A 55mAh battery sits inside each of the earbuds, while a 510mAh battery is included inside the charging case.
The company says that you can get 6.5 hours of listening time without ANC, and 4.5 hours with ANC, from the earbuds themselves. The charging case provides up to 33 hours without ANC and 23 hours with ANC.
The Huawei FreeBuds Pro 4 earbuds come in Black, Green, and White colors. They’re priced at €199 in Europe and will become available starting from January 9.
